The main differences between the two standard can be summarized as the following:
1.FM6050 is an American factory standard, and EN14470-1:2004 is an EU laboratory standard.
2.The safety cabinet according to FM6050 is a double wall steel plate structure, and there is air between the two steel plates.
3.The safety cabinet that complies with EN14470-1:2004 is also a double wall steel plate structure. But between the two steel plates is a thermal insulation layer. The insulation layer could provide longer fire resistance time.
