How to Perform Daily Maintenance on the Emergency Eyewash?

Many companies use the emergency eyewash in their workshop, but when an emergency occured, how to avoid that the eyewashes do not working, or other problems. Here are some advice on daily maintenance of emergency shower and eyewash.

1. Check the switch of the eye wash once a week to ensure that the switch can be turned on normally and the water in the tube should be kept unblocked.

2. Wipe the water outlet of the eye wash nozzle regularly to prevent dust from blocking the eye wash nozzles.

3. Change the reserve water source in the eyewash every week to keep the water source fresh.

4. Check that the protective cover of the eyewash nozzle is in good condition, and the filter screen the eyewash nozzle is not blocked or rusted.

5. Check that the eyewash indicator is in good condition and the appearance is intact and no rust.

6. The flushing device should be insulated from frozen.

7. Operators should be retrained regularly to remind employees that emergency equipment cannot replace basic personal protective equipment, such as protective glasses, face shields, protective gloves, and chemical protective clothing, etc. Manufacturers should provide corresponding technical training for the maintenance and overhaul of eye washers and shower eyewash rooms.

8. Instruct employees to master the use, operation and maintenance methods of the eyewash, and ensure that the floor mounted shower and eyewash is in standby at any time to meet emergency requirements. Maintenance requires the user to conduct a water outlet inspection once a week, and the inspection record needs to be placed on the eyewash site.

Regular maintenance of the eyewash is not only responsible for the safety of the operators, but also can prolong the life of the eyewash.
